Awards!

The fourth graders are the only kids in the school who get to attend an awards ceremony in their honor. Owen told us that he watched it last year as a 3rd grader and it was super boring but I was hoping since he was involved it would be a little more interesting this year:) It was a lot of fun watching the pride on the kids faces as they were called up for different clubs and honors. Owen got to stand and be recognized for taking part in Safety Patrol, G team and Pet Vets. He also got called up for two very special honors! The first time was to be recognized for getting a 69 on the pulse test in gym class. The pulse test is where the kids need to run across the gym every time they hear a "beep"and if they don't make it across before the next beep they have to sit out. The point is to do as many as they can and Owen's score was so good that he is now on the list for the top 5 kids in the history of the school! Owen also recieved the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence which was a great honor! They look at their grades in 3rd and 4th grade, their test scores and then also have to be nominated by their teacher. We're so proud of Owen and all his hard work!!
