Sophomore Awards

We were invited to attend the sophomore awards ceremony where Owen was given recognition on his grades. He received a Cum Laude award and we are so proud of him! He worked harder this year than ever before and took his first AP class too!

 

Last Club Game/Last Band Concert

May is so busy because so many sports, activities, and school functions are wrapping up! Owen had his last club game on a beautiful night but unfortunately they lost. Everyone played well though and they've had such a great season, it was a little sad to think it's over but summer league and training for high school will begin soon!

Paige decided not to continue band next year so not only did she have her last band concert of the year but it was also probably her last band concert ever! It wasn't too sad because we know she really didn't enjoy band but I'll miss the tradition of getting ice cream after the concerts!

 

Mother's Day!

Mother's Day morning started out at Paige's dance competition! I watched one of her dances and then she had a long break until the next one. The timing worked out perfectly for me to leave and go see Owen's soccer game which just happened to be in the same city, an hour and a half from our house! It worked out perfectly! After his game I went back to the competition because Paige had one more dance and then awards. When we got home they treated me to ice cream and presents! Owen got me a blue Comfy, which definitely lives up to its name! Pat got me some flowers, workout gear, a candle and some wafer cookies called Cubetti's. Paige's gift hadn't arrived yet but a couple of days later I got a white Stanley tumbler! All of the gifts were so thoughtful and I had so much fun spending time together. We even ended the night with a game of Scattergories.

Paige had her last regional dance competition before nationals! It was a competition we had never attended before and they did things a little differently, we're still not sure if we liked it or not! They had a special buzzer/alarm they would set off for dances they felt were especially entertaining and those dances got to perform again in a dance off before awards. Paige's hip hop dance ended up getting called out but they did not win the final dance off! All of her dances scored extremely well though. Don't Rain On My Parade, I'll Be There For You and Bohemian Rhapsody all scored a Precision award, which is very hard to get and everything else, including solo and duo, received a crystal! Find Me also won best emotional execution which was such an honor!! We stayed overnight on Saturday and had so much fun the whole weekend! Paige even said she wanted to go back after we left on Sunday!
