Mint! Oregano!

I can check off more of my spices! This eggplant is coated with a mint and oregano marinade. Initially it tasted really good, but the more I ate the less I wanted. Owen wouldn't even taste it and Pat was glad to hear that I had made it when he wasn't home so he didn't have to try it. Apparently I'm the only adventurous eater in this house!

Another Birthday Party!

Owen's "cousin" turned 1 over the weekend and we had fun celebrating and eating cake! One of my favorite parts though was when, in the middle of opening presents, Owen helped himself to one that looked good and made off with it like it had been meant for him:)

Paaaaaarty!

Owen's friend Stella had a birthday a week or two ago and I never posted pictures! As you can see, we went all out. Hats (Owen wouldn't wear his)! Streamers (the kids tried to pull them down)! Noisemakers (it took them awhile to figure out which end to blow in)!

Heat Wave!

The temperature reached 40 today (or got really close) so we spent a lot of the day outside! Yea!! We finally got around to some shoveling (Owen did some raking) and Pierre the cat (see him under the shovel?) came to visit. Pierre likes to take walks with us so we took a long walk around the neighborhood with him before he got distracted by a couple of dogs.


Later we walked to the library and stopped to check out the waterfall

I did get a picture of Pat and Owen with both of their eyes open, but this one is much more amusing.

Mustard Seed

In my efforts to use all the spices in my spice rack I came across a recipe for mustard! I'm not a very big mustard fan but I still thought it would be fun to make. Unfortunately it didn't work and was super disgusting and I threw it out. I did get this pretty picture of the mustard seeds though!
