Field Day

I didn't attend Paige's Field Day but a friend sent me some pictures! She had a blast!

Spring Ballet

There are a lot of dance posts coming up! First up is the Spring Ballet-La Boutique Fantasque. The story takes place in a toyshop and most of the dancers were a different kind of doll. Paige performed as a Swiss doll and did wonderfully! Their dance was much more difficult than their roles in the Nutcracker so they had to work a little harder this time around!

Orchestra Concert!

Owen had his last orchestra concert of the year! He didn't start out loving violin but by the end of the year his skills had progressed well enough that he was playing more complicated music and enjoying it. I was a little disappointed with his posture but it looked like he was in time with the music and hitting all the right notes! Afterwards, we went to Igloos for some ice cream!
Check out that terrible posture! :)

Mother's Day!

Ah yes. Another Mother's Day! This year didn't work out ideally but we managed to pull it together by the end. Pat and Owen started out the day in Michigan so Owen could finish up at a soccer tournament and then drove straight to Mentor to join Paige and I at my parent's house. Paige and I got a ride from Jamie (thanks!) because the van window was hit by a rock and is spiderwebbed and starting to fall apart and isn't safe to drive on the freeway. We ate some Jimmy John's and hung out and then Pat and Owen arrived and we had a couple more hours before we headed home. Pat and the kids were so generous with gifts! Paige made me a heart necklace with her thumbprint at school and they both did fill-in sheets for me (my favorite thing to read!). Pat also got me a mug with pictures of me and the kids and a little Groot keychain!

Hale Farm

Paige's class went on a field trip to Hale Farm and I was able to chaperone. Paige and I actually went another time when I chaperoned Owen's second grade class but she didn't remember any of it.
It was a weirdly warm and rainy day so it was kind of miserable in that respect but the kids were super well-behaved. Only one kid was a bit questionable when he told the lady in the cheesebarn that she looked like an old Cinderella and she got very offended...The blacksmith was even the same guy from three years ago!

Paige's Very First Communion!

Paige has been waiting all year for this! Finally! First Communion Day! PSR has been building up the excitement all year so Paige was very excited/nervous for the day to finally get here. And she had missed the rehearsal because of dance so that made her a little worried too. Of course the day was beautiful and the mass went off without a hitch. We had a party afterwards too and it was so wonderful to have friends and family help us celebrate Paige's big day!

Ready and waiting!

I got to recreate a picture from Owen's First Communion Day!

Rock n Run

Owen returned to his elementary school to defend his first place finish in the Rock n Run 5k! (remember last year?) He was actually bumped up an age level to ages 11-14 which can be a tough one but he still came away with a second place win! We were a little worried about how he would finish when he sprinted off the starting line but he obviously did great and we were very proud of him! We were even lucky enough to have beautiful weather, which has been a problem in the past. This was Owen's fifth year participating in the event and I think his second year doing the 5k, other years he did the one mile kids run. Paige opted to not participate this year, I tried everything I could to convince her but she was adamant!
