Soccer!

Owen's soccer team didn't sign up for a second session of futsal so it's been awhile since I've seen him play (I missed three games during Paige's dance competition!). His team subbed in for another team that couldn't make it so I wanted to make sure I got some pictures of Owen playing. Ever wonder why I don't post more soccer pictures? Because I'm terrible at getting good ones. I'm either too far away or the pictures end up blurry. Here are a few decent ones though. He had an amazing game and I lost track of how many goals he scored!

Competition: Day Three

Competition Day 3! Paige had to perform two dances but not until 7pm so we took our time and relaxed all day until we had to leave around 4. I hadn't seen much of the jazz dance and the lyrical dance is always a little stressful because it's very technical. But! They did amazing and it was beautiful and I held back my tears:) Lyrical got double platinum and 1st overall and jazz got platinum!

Competition: Day Two

Competition day two was just as nerve-wracking as day one even though there was still only one dance for Paige to perform. We did wake up to a fun surprise though! The instagram page for the competition had posted a picture from Paige's trio! We stuck close to Paige's friends, Maya and Mikayla, all day and it was so fun for them to have time to just hang out and be silly. We had a lot of time because they performed at 3:30 and awards weren't until 7:30! They ended up scoring double platinum and winning first overall. It was well-deserved! I love this dance!!

Competition: Day One

Paige had her second competition of the season! This time she had four dances to compete, next time it will be 5! She had to be there for 3 days in a row and missed some school on Friday to do her trio. We dealt with a lot of stomachaches from Paige because she was very, very nervous!! By the end of each day though, she was so excited and proud and had so much fun! Paige's trio scored platinum and second overall.

Valentine’s Day!

Heart Breakfast!

Pat wrote me a poem to go with the flowers I insisted on picking up because we don't need any more vases:) The quote on the board is from one of my favorite poems, "Love Among the Ruins"

I organized the party for Paige's room! We had lots of snacks and played Valentine bingo.
I got Pat to take this selfie with me:)

Baby Shower!

We threw a surprise baby shower for a friend due in March! I'm so excited to see their family grow because they're pretty awesome people! Everyone brought something to eat and Paige and I got to try "walking tacos" for the first time ever. Our review-yum! We chatted, gave presents, and the girls got to decorate onesies.

Remember these babies from 2011?? What are the chances I can get them to pose again? :)
Happy Valentine's Day!

Family Party!

We finally got around to having Owen's birthday party! He opted not to have a friend party this year but we didn't want to skip out on celebrating with family. We went for a loose "tailgating" theme this year because we had his party on the same day as the Superbowl. We used foam fingers, pom poms, and streamers in orange and blue to decorate and also had a banner behind the food that said "ready, set, eat!" We made one new recipe this year-Football-shaped spinach dip breadsticks. It was kind of a pain to make but really ended up being so tasty, and it was a fun combination food/decoration to have on the table. We set up cornhole downstairs but I don't think anyone played, Owen actually moved it out of his way to set up a game where you had to shoot a ball into a bin from a bunch of different points in the room without missing to win. It was a hit! We also played Donner Dinner Party!
Food, everything except for the pizza!

Closer view of the cupcakes, I loved the little foam fingers!

Owen's game

Mom and Dad were on a team and Mom hilariously revealed her part in the game because of her reaction to the card~

Still laughing! :)

The kids played Mario Party while the adults were playing the board game
