Halloween Party

We debuted our costumes a week early at a friend's Halloween party! The kids ran around and ate a lot of sugar and the adults sat around a fire and played Catchphrase. So much laughter all around!

Red Wagon Farm

We found ourselves with some random free time last weekend and it was a beautiful day. Some would even say it was hot! We picked up Owen from a sleepover and drove straight to Red Wagon Farm to enjoy the day together. We started out with the corn maze. Owen and I raced Paige and Pat to see who could reach all of the checkpoints and get out first. Owen and I finished pretty quickly and I took some pictures of him pretending to be serious while sitting on a tractor. Then we went on a hayride, got some food and the kids played hide and seek in the playground. The last event we did was a pumpkin carry. Pat picked up all the pumpkins he could carry and we took them home for just $10! He managed three large ones and two small ones.

Leaves

The leaves have been falling very slowly so we've been raking little by little. I didn't want to miss out on leaf pictures so even though we didn't have a big pile I still had the kids come out to take pictures. They thought it was pretty funny and Owen did some slo mo football catches into the "pile."

Ballet Day

Paige had "Ballet Day" over the weekend and she wasn't looking forward to a very long day away from home but later when I asked her if she was glad she went she said yes! Ballet Day this year consisted of Cecchetti, scholarship tryouts, ballet, jazz, and hip hop. They had a 30 minute lunch break and a break for awards to be given out as well. Paige was super pumped to be awarded 4th place overall this year! So proud of her and happy that she got to end the day on a good note!

Last Meet

Owen's cross country season has come to an end! He finished up his last meet on a chilly morning with his best time yet. And as soon as he ended he told us he'd be participating again next year. He didn't start out the season loving it so we're glad he finished with such a positive outcome!

Walk

We've had a few days of unseasonably warm weather so we got out to the fitness trail! I actually had to take each kid separately because they were busy at different times but it was great to have the one-on-one time!

Orchestra

Owen's orchestra did something a little different this year and had an event called Rocktober. They learned some rock music and performed it along with the 6th and 8th grade orchestras. It was a really good concert and you could see the kids loved it. Some even got to perform with electric violins! Owen got the chance to try one in class and really enjoyed it. After, we went for ice cream with friends!

Apples

After soccer and dance finished up, we headed straight to Patterson's to get apples, kettle corn, fritters/doughnuts, and frolic amongst the pumpkins. I thought late Sunday afternoon wouldn't be crowded but I was very wrong. It was packed! And they ran out of fritters!! We subbed in some apple cider doughnuts and they were pretty tasty but I was still a little disappointed. We headed back to make our pies and eat some pizza and we were all completely stuffed and exhausted by the time the day was done!

Crazy Sunday!

Last Sunday was packed full of activities! We started with Owen's soccer game, and then a performance for Paige and then our annual trip to Patterson's (more on that another time). We had pretty good weather for Owen's game, they played hard but ended in a 0-0 tie. Then we headed over to watch Paige do a performance for a local church's fall festival. Most of the groups that attended  learned new dances specifically for this event and had very little practice but they all did amazing! Paige's group was the first to go and just as they stepped out to perform it started raining really hard! They kept going despite the distraction and looked great!
