Spooorts

Most weekends are filled with some sort of dance/soccer but last weekend was extra crazy for Owen. He started Saturday morning with soccer practice for an hour then had a bit of a break until his cross country meet at 1:45. It was unseasonable hot but he blasted through two miles and then we had to go straight to his travel game that started at 2:30 (they won!). He was able to relax until the next day when he had a club game (tie).

Ran into some friends who don't go to school with the kids anymore!

Paige Etc

A new cupcake shop opened in our neighborhood and we pass it on our walk home from school! This could be dangerous...
Paige learned how to do a shoulder stand in hip hop!

Griffin sleeps in the most adorable positions

I made Paige a scrunchie! And apparently I didn't do a good enough job of tying the elastic because it came loose in the fabric before the school day was over!

We tried a new hairdo!

Paige tested out Griffin's costume and kept him company with a witch hat:)

Indian's Game

We've owed Owen an Indian's game since his birthday and we finally got around to scheduling it! We went with my parents too, which made the trip that much more fun! We grabbed some dinner beforehand and then got some ice cream at the game. Unfortunately they lost and we decided to leave around the 8th inning because everyone was tired but we had fun while we were there!

Eyes Closed

Paige and Miley decided to walk to school with their eyes closed one day last week and the results were hilarious:)

River Run

Time for my yearly half marathon! The River Run is still my favorite race to run. 13.1 miles through the park! I wasn't running with a certain time in mind so I felt pretty relaxed about the whole thing. This was also the first year I trained with energy chews. I don't know what really made the difference but I was very happy with my time! I ended up with a time of 2:00:27, much faster than I thought would do!

Before the race
Cara was running her first half marathon! We did a lot of the shorter training runs together.

My favorite part was the high fives right before I crossed the finish line!

After!

Mom and Dad came out to support me too!

CC Meet

Owen finally got to go to a cross country meet! He's been practicing since the summer but missed the first two meets because of soccer games. It was a big invitational so there was a huge number of kids running. Owen ended up placing 178th out of 305 with a time of 16:20. Owen enjoyed the whole experience except for the part where he was hungry after and realized we hadn't brought any money:)

Back to School Feast

It took us a couple of weeks but we finally got to have our Back to School Feast! It was pulled together at the last minute after school one day when Owen unexpectedly didn't go to soccer practice and we realized we could finally all have dinner together! The kids have requested the past couple of years NOT to have toasted ravioli so we made just regular ravioli with a new sauce and had some broccoli. Pat ran out and got us some ice cream for dessert. Pretty much the only thing I had ready to go for this dinner was the cards:)

Mead Cup

The weekend after the Sandusky tournament Owen's team had another tournament, this time in Dayton.  Their first game was cut short by rain but they won 1-0 and they won their second game 8-0 (Owen scored the first goal!). The next day they had a super early game at 8 which they won to get into the finals and then we had to use up some time until the last game. Any guesses? They won!! Champions two weekends in a row for the second year in a row!!
