Homecoming!

Owen attended Homecoming last weekend! This year they made more of an event out of it by taking pictures in the Flats and getting dinner at Brewdog beforehand. All I ever hear about the dance is that it's very hot in the gym but I think he had fun! Afterwards he met with a different group of friends at BW3 to watch the Ohio State game where they pulled out a last second win!

River Run

I believe this was my 8th year of participating in The River Run half marathon. It was cancelled in 2020 but I still ran my own race along the same path and I missed a year when I got my appendix out. It's still my favorite race to run. This year we had to drive from the new house and park in our old neighborhood and then walk to the starting line which wasn't a big deal but a little sad not to be able to just walk out the front door and to the park. It was perfect weather for running, a little chilly to start so there was no overheating during the run. I opted not to carry water because they had stations about every two miles which timed out great with when I wanted to eat the Clifs bloks I brought. I ended with a time of 153:40 which I never would have predicted. I think all of the components just came together for a good race.

Lisa

Lisa passed away Thursday, September 14, about 2.5 weeks after being diagnosed with brain cancer. There's no amount of time you can spend with a loved one that makes saying goodbye any easier but the loss I feel has been compounded by the swiftness with which she was taken. She was a fun-loving and kind person who was clever, witty and creative. She was a mother, a daughter, a sister and a friend. I keep thinking of her in little moments during my days-when I saw the coffeecake at Starbucks she requested everyday in the hospital, when I heard a sad song about loss, when I took a picture of my cats I thought she would appreciate, when a Christmas carol popped into my head the other day. Some are obvious but not all of the connections make sense. It's nice to think about her though and remember good times and what she brought to our family for the 48 years she was here. She will be forever missed and loved.

 

Six!

We already saw Six once in New York but when we heard it was coming to Cleveland we all agreed that we wanted to go again! The cast was totally different but the show was still amazing. The singing was so good and the energy level was just as high as last time. I'm so glad we made time to go, I would see it a bunch more times if I could!
