Waterpark!

We've been so busy with getting the house ready to sell that we haven't been on many excursions this summer but Paige requested to go to a waterpark in Columbus so we took a road trip with friends for the day! It ended up being so fun, the perfect mix of relaxing and going on slides/raft rides. The only negative part was that the food was terrible but everything else made up for it. I thought I didn't like waterparks but this one made me change my mind! On the way home we stopped in a cute little town for some ice cream at Jeni's.

Taco Run!

First race of the season! My parents and I signed up for the Taco Run 5k in preparation for the River Run in September. I thought it would be a pretty easy run but we did not research the route and it ended up being 90% hills. It was a really tough run!! I was really proud of how I did despite that though and ended up getting first in my age group with a chip time of 25:18! My mom also got second in her age group and my dad got first in his and we were all rewarded with hot sauce! Pat was rewarded with a fun breakfast while he waited for us to start and finish.

Paige went to Maeve's to sleep over and ended up staying for two nights in a row

Parade!

Paige was supposed to walk in two parades this summer for cheer but the first one got rained out. Luckily, they got good weather for the second one! We parked at the end of the parade to make it easy to get Paige and go home but that meant we had a long time to wait before we saw any of the parade. We passed the time by talking to some friends we ran into and Owen and a friend came to watch too! Later, Pat and I met up with some other friends to watch more fireworks and it was the best fireworks show I've seen!

4th of July!

Fourth of July was a little different this year! The kids both had plans and Pat and I spent most of the day fixing up the house to get ready to sell! We painted and did other stuff all day until it was time to go to see fireworks and then we loaded up a backpack with candy and a blanket and headed downtown. It was super crowded but we got lucky and found a close spot without any trees blocking our view! We were about 45 minutes early so we got to sit and listen to the band while we waited and eventually saw Paige and her friends while they searched for a seat!

Showcase and Recitals

I thought I had wrapped up all the dance posts but just found these pictures in a draft! Even after Paige had her own recital and then a week of nationals, she still had showcase and two more recreational recitals to perform in. Showcase was a little stressful for Paige in the past but she didn't seem as worried this year and performed beautifully! It's a nice way to wrap up the personal accomplishments of all the kids for the year too! 

The studio likes to put company dances in the rec recitals to show the younger kids and parents what they can look forward to if they join company! Paige's group performed pretty much all of my favorite dances from the year over the two days of recitals so even though it felt like the year was done, it was nice to see them one last time!
