Camping for Owen

Owen's friend asked him to go camping for the long weekend and I think he was a little apprehensive because we haven't done much tent camping but he said yes! Yes with the promise that we would come pick him up when he wanted to come home:) He ended up lasting the whole time and had a blast. They went fishing, swimming at the lake, rode their bikes everywhere and had (I think) every meal made over a fire. I don't think he got much sleep though because when he arrived home Sunday, he took a very long nap. I felt really bad because Pat's family was over and I didn't want him to be rude but there was no way he was going to make it through the visit.

Showcase

Paige got to participate in a special show this year that was only for solos, duos and trios! Pat and Owen missed her dance but made it for the very end to see Paige and her friends walk out in fancy dresses. Jamie joined me for the whole show! They will only perform their trio one more time at Nationals, I don't know if that will be sad or a relief for Paige.

Pat took some great pictures while they were at Niagara Falls! I was bummed that Paige and I had to miss out but the boys had a blast and I'm looking forward to getting there as a family!

While Pat and Owen were in New York for a couple soccer games, Paige and I had a chance to go on a bikeride/hike in the beautiful weather!

Run!

Owen has been adding a little bit of running in on days he doesn't have soccer practice or games. Mostly he runs with his friend Adam, around the block, passing our house four or five times before they wander in for some water, Fortnight and maybe dinner. I convinced Owen to run in the park with me the other day though, and I had so much fun hanging out with him! He wanted to break away from the paved path to try a trail so I also got to try a place I hadn't been before! He's not quite used to hillwork yet though:)

Field Trip

Paige's class took a field trip to a local museum and a bus tour of local historical spots. I actually went on this same field trip with Owen when he was in third grade! It was a rainy day and not great for a bus ride. The windows were steaming up and we probably would have gotten out of the bus more if it had been nice but still, it's nice to learn the history of where you live!

Engagement Party

Jamie and Kevin had an engagement party and it was awesome! Owen and Pat already had their plans for the Crew game in place so they couldn't make it but Paige and I represented the family. We got all dressed up (Paige still had her dance hair from trio that morning) and headed over to meet new people and hang out with family. Everyone was so nice and Paige made a little friend who I think will be super excited to see her again:)

Crew Game

While Paige and I were at the dance competition, Owen and Pat were attending travel soccer games and then a Crew game with Pat's mom! The Crew didn't win but it sounds like they all had a great time and Owen even caught a shirt when they were walking around. Pat told him a shirt was flying their way so Owen stuck out his hand and smoothly caught it. A lot of fans were super excited for him!

Competition Day 2

Competition Day 2 was just one dance-trio! The girls did amazing and scored Elite Top First and second overall! So proud of them!
