Downtown Adventure!

Our downtown adventure was one of my favorite days last summer so we knew we wanted to do it again! We didn't want it to be exactly the same activities, just knew we wanted to head downtown, and with the kids in swimsuits this time so they'd dry off quicker if they went into the fountains.

First stop-the rapid station! They were doing some construction on the tracks so we had to get on the rapid, get off and take a bus to another rapid station and then get back on. It was a bit of a hassle but no one minded! The kids had fun sitting backwards again and Ella worked on teaching Paige how to solve a Rubik's cube.

We made it! We took a walk through the arcade and grabbed lunch at Jimmy John's and Subway but spent most of our time at the fountains. It rained a little bit but not enough to make us head for shelter. They had special games and toys set out for a special Summer in the City event so that made it extra entertaining for the kids too.

After we dried off a bit we headed out for a treat and ended up at this ice cream sandwich place. We got lucky because it was happy hour and everything was half off! The kids all chose just scoops of ice cream but Erica and I tried the ice cream sandwiches. It was yummy but very messy. The cookies needed to be softer and the ice cream needed to be harder!
