Carnival!

After soccer we stopped home for some showers and lunch and headed to Owen's school for their carnival. They had a lot of fun games for the kids but my favorite part was the face painting.

This is Owen in jail. A very popular place to be, it was crowded the whole time we were there!

Paige requested to be put in jail too!

Soccerrrrr! (Yay!)

We had a super busy weekend and it all started with soccer on Saturday morning!
I very recently posted about soccer but I'm doing a second post because I now have soccer pictures of Owen, we finally had nice weather, Paige finally let me put a ponytail in her hair and I've added a video! The video is of the kids playing around before Paige's practice. Paige starts at 9 and Owen doesn't start until 10:15 so he has some time to wait around. He spends the entire time playing soccer so he's basically playing soccer for about 2 1/2 hours every Saturday morning! It might have been the nice weather but Paige seemed even more excited than previous weeks and moved much more quickly.

Paige dribbling the ball to her field (surprise appearance by my shadow!)

There's me again! (ok, Owen too!)

Working Hard

These pictures are from over a week ago and they don't really go together except that they were from the same day. Paige helped me with the salad spinner (she makes it look like no easy feat in the pictures!) and then later we did some salt writing. Basically just pour some salt in a box top and play. Then you can shake the box back and forth like an Etch-a-Sketch to clear it (maybe the best part!). If you try this you should know that it's a bad idea to keep a snack nearby. It wasn't the neatest of activities which was fine but Paige kept getting salt all over her rice cake! I was pretty impressed with Paige's writing though, I handed her a pencil and was about to assist but she drew the letter P before I could even suggest anything!

Big Day for Owen

These pictures are really from a birthday celebration for Lisa and Alex but I think Owen stole the show for a bit. See why below. (Also, happy birthday Lisa and Alex!)

Totally normal birthday celebration...

Awesomely hilarious picture!

Soccerrrrr! (Brr!)

My last post was all about the nice weather...this one not so much. We are two weeks into soccer season  and we've had to pile on the layers each time! Luckily it hasn't stopped the kids from enjoying themselves. This is the first time Paige has been old enough to play and she's very excited to participate. She tends to get distracted watching the other kids but she's out there on her own and does a pretty good job listening to instructions.

Enjoying the Outdoors

We've definitely had more than one Spring day now where we could actually enjoy playing outside (hopefully today is one of those days too!). Here are some pictures of the kids enjoying the weather!
Paige and a friend on their way to pick up their siblings at school.

Maybe it was a bit windy this day...

I got them to stop running for just long enough to take this picture.

Owen flying his kite-this was the highest it got that day.

Paige was satisfied just pulling her kite along:)

Paige (from the backseat): Mom! Look at me!
Me (checking the rearview mirror): Oh, are you hiding?
Paige: No! I have a scary mustache!

Easter!

It's been a few weeks but from what I recall we had a lovely Easter:) We had to wake Owen up so he was a little out of it at first but both kids found their baskets pretty quickly, we went to church (where we actually got to sit down!), made a quick stop to Eggshell land and then went to visit my parents.

Ha ha!

Ha ha ha!
Paige was nice enough to pose for this picture. I didn't get one of Owen with his basket! Oops!

This was the last year they're doing Eggshell Land so we went just a little out of our way to check it out! The kids were only mildly impressed but I'm glad we went!
They got a picture this good on one try!

This was the best we got (does anyone think Owen was lacking sugar that day?)

Yay!

Decorations and Whatnot

Here are some pictures of the decorations and food from Paige's party!

I forgot to get a closer shot but you can see Paige's banner hanging on the mantel.

We had large bunny, chick, and ducks everywhere!

We had bunny-shaped cheese crackers and honey crackers, this yummy Whole Grain Vegan Carrot Cake Loaf, and these yummy cookies.

Bunny and Chick cupcakes!

Non-sweet foods (except for those blueberries)

Birthday Party!

It was easy to pick a theme for Paige's birthday party this year because she turned three only a few days after Easter! The best part was probably the Easter egg hunt, we split the kids into two groups so we could have two difficulty levels and it seemed to work out really well.

And Back to Paige...

I know these posts are not at all timely and completely out of order but I'm working on catching up! Paige turned 3 on a Tuesday so Pat worked and Owen had school for a good chunk of the day but I think the day still felt special. Paige had music class (and actually asked me if they would all sing to her so I put in a special request), then we had some friends over, we had the dinner of her choice (see below), went to see Owen play soccer where Pat made a surprise appearance and then headed home for cupcakes and presents!

Dinner choice-pizza, celery, purple carrot and an apple!

Owen was pretty pleased with Paige's dinner choice as well.

This is Paige getting a wee bit close to the flames on her candles. She then pulled back and said, "It's hot!"

Pat rescued her hair from the flames and she extinguished them  with a little help:)
