Owen had his last day of soccer yesterday! The season was so short but yesterday was almost too hot for the kids to enjoy themselves so I guess I understand why they end it so early. Owen did amazing and I already can't wait until next year!
I made Owen pose for the quintessential soccer picture but he wouldn't put down his snack!

Banana Ice Cream?
Someone figured out how to make bananas taste like ice cream. I love them.
I found this idea here. But I'll explain it for you in case you don't want to click on the link.
Slice some bananas. Freeze them for atleast an hour or two on a plate or baking sheet. Put them in a food processor or blender.
Blend. Scrape down the sides a few times and blend some more until it looks like ice cream.
Scoop it. Eat it. Yum.

Softball
We finally made it out to see Pat play some softball last night!
(click here for pictures from last year)
Pat in action
Paige did this the whole time. No, really, she cried the whole time unless I was swinging her car seat. It hurt my arms.
Owen did this the whole time. He was super excited to watch the game and kept waving to Pat. I felt really bad when we had to leave before the second game but I promised we would go again. Now we just have to get Paige to cooperate...
The funniest part of the night for me was when I was trying to get both kids out of the park and Owen announced he had to use the bathroom. They're still fixing up the park so the only option was a port-a-potty which Owen decleared too yucky and stinky to use (and rightly so). Pat had to run over between innings to help out. Good thing he did because I really didn't want to cram myself, Owen and Paige into a stinky, yucky port-a-potty.

Zzzzzzzz
Both of my children asleep at once! Amazing! Owen thinks he doesn't need naps during the day and I don't really enforce them anymore since it means (usually...hopefully...) he falls asleep faster at night. Because of this he's been falling asleep during random activities. We had gone up stairs to watch the Ohio State marching band and he fell asleep during it. Normally he gets a little more pumped watching Script Ohio.
Paige likes to sleep in odd places too

Visits
We've been having lots of fun visiting with different people lately and I haven't been keeping up with posting the pictures so here are a bunch at once!
Pat's family came over and Owen got to hang out with his Aunt Lauren. Yes, Owen is drinking milk from a shot glass...totally normal, right?
Ashley came to visit with her twin nephews. I didn't remember to take a picture until the very end when the boys were definitely ready to leave and not at all in the mood to pose.

My Dad's birthday was over the weekend and Owen helped him blow out the candles. That's a lemon cake you're looking at. Yum.
Diana and Adam stopped by on their way back home and it was such a nice day that we headed to the park.

These Cookies Are Great!*
*If you take out the chickpeas
I bought the cookbook Deceptively Delicious which is all about hiding healthy foods in foods that kids like to eat. This is the recipe I was most skeptical about since it doesn't involve pureeing. You can actually see the chickpeas and that pretty much ruins it for me right there. Owen ate the entire first one and then picked out the chickpeas on the other ones he had. Pat likes them for some reason...maybe it's because I had him try the first one with his eyes closed...I haven't given up on the cookbook though, I made too many purees to give up already:)

Tutu
Little girl clothes are adorable. Seriously. I think it's great what you can get away with as far as clothing options for kids. To amuse myself I sometimes try to imagine how funny it would be to see adults walking around in this kind of stuff.
And the photo session is over...

Paige and Hippo
I'm going to try to remember to take pictures of Paige and Hippo at different points so I can see how she's grown. Here they are today...
When Owen found out I was going to take a picture of Paige and Hippo he wanted Giraffe to be in it too!
...and one month ago! (Look at that face, I love this picture because she looks so silly)

Owen was ok with posing also. I didn't even tell him to pose like this. He's such a pro.

My Mother's Day
Waffles for breakfast!
I was trying to plant some seeds with Owen and he was super upset about getting his picture taken... I think he didn't want any evidence that he was actually enjoying himself for a moment.
A fort!

I wanted a picture with Paige and Owen and he happily obliged but when I saw them and realized I looked like a giant crazy person Owen refused to take any more! He let out this huge sigh and just walked away. I thought it was hilarious. I actually look less crazy in this picture than I did in the other ones, trust me.

Siblings and a Casserole!
I know...my titles need some work but at least you know exactly what you're getting when you read them:)
The siblings...
The casserole...Chicken Spaghetti Casserole. This was mediocre, I probably wouldn't take the time to make it again because it was basically a less tasty version of the filling from the Chicken Wreath (click for picture, not recipe) we make every once in awhile.

Taquitos and Sleep
I came across this recipe for Beef Taquitos and I'm so glad we tried them. They're a little more work than just making regular tacos but they are so much tastier! They are basically little baked tacos.
Totally unprecedented! Owen fell asleep on the living room floor yesterday! Amazing!
