NYC-Day Two

Day Two!
Breakfast-We were excited to go try a bagel place so we went to Liberty Bagels, which had gotten good reviews and was on a lot of lists of food places in New York to visit. A lot of people must have seen the same list because there was a line out the door, luckily it was nice outside! Their claim to fame is their rainbow bagel so Paige and I both got one. They put massive amounts of cream cheese in them which was delicious but messy since we ate them on the go.
Central Park-We rented bikes to get around Central Park which was fun and also a terrible idea. I thought we'd be able to cover more ground this way but then we couldn't get into specific sections of the park without walking the bikes or having one of us stay with the bikes to watch them while the rest went. We did manage to get around most of the park though and we were so tired after! We accidentally missed our turn off to return the bikes and had to backtrack which was not easy since it's one-way!
History Museum-The museums border Central Park so we returned out bikes and walked over. The history museum was nice but crowded and the kids had tired legs. We saw a small amount of it before we left to go find some food, I think we ended up at Panera.
Spyscape-this place was part museum/part interactive adventure where you could play games to discover what kind of spy you would be. This wasn't a quintessentially "New York" activity but I was glad we did it, we all had fun! Owen and I ended up as Agent Handlers and Paige and Pat were Surveillance Officers!

Bagels!!!

Paige testing out her skills. You had to listen to the recording describe a person or scene and see how quickly you could find it among the videos surrounding the whole room!

Trying out decoding skills to help someone escape

History museum!

I love this picture!

Owen found Teddy Roosevelt...

...and Abraham Lincoln

A picture from atop the Belvedere Castle in Central Park. It's actually very small but fine to climb up. Apparently it was built for the purpose of enjoying the views!

Alice!
