Six!!

Six needed its own post because I had so many pictures and because it was one of my most favorite parts of our trip! We took an uber to the theater and were surprised to see a long line down the street to get in! Eventually the line started moving and we got to our seats with plenty of time. The theater was much smaller than I expected, which ended up being great because it made the experience feel even more intimate! Our seats were in the first row in the balcony so we had such a good view!! The singing was amazing and the show was so high energy, we all ended up loving it! I would have seen it every night we were there if I could have. After the show we saw a small crowd gathering so we went and waited hoping some of the actresses would come out and 4 out of the 6 queens did! Paige was in a perfect spot for interacting with them and got all their autographs and we got a picture of her with one!
On our walk back to the hotel we stopped for some ice cream and it was so so delicious. I got honeycomb flavored and it reminded me of a flavor I loved when I was little-Buttercrunch from Friendly's.

Fun wall while we moved into the theater slowly

So excited!!

So excited to get a picture!!

So cute and the most delicious ice cream place!

My ice cream looked tiny but it was very rich and the perfect size! So good!

NYC-Day Two

Day Two!
Breakfast-We were excited to go try a bagel place so we went to Liberty Bagels, which had gotten good reviews and was on a lot of lists of food places in New York to visit. A lot of people must have seen the same list because there was a line out the door, luckily it was nice outside! Their claim to fame is their rainbow bagel so Paige and I both got one. They put massive amounts of cream cheese in them which was delicious but messy since we ate them on the go.
Central Park-We rented bikes to get around Central Park which was fun and also a terrible idea. I thought we'd be able to cover more ground this way but then we couldn't get into specific sections of the park without walking the bikes or having one of us stay with the bikes to watch them while the rest went. We did manage to get around most of the park though and we were so tired after! We accidentally missed our turn off to return the bikes and had to backtrack which was not easy since it's one-way!
History Museum-The museums border Central Park so we returned out bikes and walked over. The history museum was nice but crowded and the kids had tired legs. We saw a small amount of it before we left to go find some food, I think we ended up at Panera.
Spyscape-this place was part museum/part interactive adventure where you could play games to discover what kind of spy you would be. This wasn't a quintessentially "New York" activity but I was glad we did it, we all had fun! Owen and I ended up as Agent Handlers and Paige and Pat were Surveillance Officers!

Bagels!!!

Paige testing out her skills. You had to listen to the recording describe a person or scene and see how quickly you could find it among the videos surrounding the whole room!

I love this picture!

Owen found Teddy Roosevelt...

...and Abraham Lincoln

A picture from atop the Belvedere Castle in Central Park. It's actually very small but fine to climb up. Apparently it was built for the purpose of enjoying the views!

NYC-Day One

We took a quick trip to New York City over Spring Break and we fit so much in, in just a couple of days! We left early on Thursday and had a leisurely drive up before we got to the crazy traffic heading into the city. Pat did awesome navigating everything and dropped us off at the hotel so he could go park the car. The hotel was in Koreatown and was beautiful, I wish I had taken more pictures! The first thing we did after checking in was head out to Joe's pizza, a place I kept hearing about. I thought the pizza was so good but nobody else was very impressed with it. We spent the rest of the night just walking around and looking at everything. Times Square wasn't as big/impressive as I was expecting but it was very crowded. We got some treats at the Hershey store there. We walked past Radio City Music Hall and the library and saw St. Patrick's Cathedral which was beautiful just sitting amongst all the tall buildings.
On our way!

The gorgeous staircase in our hotel

Pizza-pretty much every food place had places to stand and eat with only a few tables for sitting

Easter Afternoon

The rest of the day was spent with family! The visit started off with an Easter scavenger hunt for Owen and Paige to find baskets. The rhyming in the clues was extra impressive this year. We had brunch food to eat which was delicious and we even celebrated Paige's birthday!

Ready to start the hunt

Easter Morning

Easter!! It's been awhile so I have to try to think back on the details of the day which might be tough with my terrible memory! I believe we had to wake up Owen and then the kids set out to find their baskets. Owen found his first and Paige took quite a bit longer but she covered every corner of the house while she was looking! We tried a scone mix for breakfast which was not a hit so we're going back to homemade cinnamon rolls again next year! Then we got ready to head to my parent's house!

Soccer Game!

Sometimes outdoor sports can be a pain with the weather but sometimes we get lucky and get beautiful weather and scenery! This was one of those nights!
