Undefeated!

Owen and Pat wrapped up Tri-City soccer with an undefeated season! The team had kids ranging from 6th-8th grade so they played in a u14 league. That means Owen was playing up 2 years! So fun to watch them play and a little sad that the season is over. Pat will have a lot more free time now though!

HarvestFest

Nine years of HarvestFest (for me and Paige at least, Owen has missed a couple for soccer games)! I was looking back at pictures from previous years and noticed that last year it was so nice that I wore a sleeveless shirt! Not this year, we all got bundled up for the cold this time. They moved some locations of the activities and it was very crowded so we didn't get to do the trick or treating but the kids enjoyed the inflatable race course, inflatable maze and playground. Later, Owen had to go to a party but we took Paige and Miley back to watch the fireworks and play in the corn pit. So nice watching the fireworks without the big crowd even if it was a little chilly!

Owen somehow got his sleeve caught in his braces! I tried to help but I was mostly laughing. Pat saved the day!

Cold Day for Soccer!

The soccer seasons are wrapping up but we still have some more tournaments and games on the calendar. And it is getting COLD at the games. You know it's bad when Owen agrees to wear pants and long sleeves to play! Paige found her own way of staying warm and "watching" the game by nestling into the trunk with a good book.

Walk to School Day!

Walk to School Day gets a little less exciting every year but Paige is almost done with elementary school so we're going to see it through:) After all, we've been going since 2013! Why quit now?! We always run into people we know at the walk but Paige brought along a buddy who doesn't normally walk to school. I think it's safe to say that she wasn't impressed. And Paige does it every day so she was pretty neutral about the whole situation as well.

Kalahari!

One Friday night after Paige had dance we surprised the kids with a trip to Kalahari! We've been wanting to go for about a couple years now so this was long overdue and it took some friends making a reservation and asking if we wanted to join them for us to get around to it! So glad we did! We all had a blast though the weekend was exhausting. It's a lot of work swimming and climbing up all those stairs to get to the slides but we made sure to have plenty of relaxing time in the hot tub to counteract all our hard work;) We didn't take a lot of pictures because we didn't want to bring our phones near the water so this is it!
Events of note-Pat lost his wristband in the wavepool immediately after we had switched it to be used as a room charge! Luckily they didn't charge us $50 for a new one.
We ate at Kalahari's buffet for breakfast and dinner on Saturday and we were not disappointed, lots of yummy options.
Owen and Paige weren't scared of anything and loved everything they went on! There were two racing slides that were fun but the seams where the slide pieces fit together hurt my back so badly that I decided not to go on those ever again!
I was so exhausted that I ended up taking a nap when we got home on Sunday!
So excited!

Not as excited...yet!

Sweet and Sour Chicken

We tried a new recipe last night, Sweet and Sour Chicken, off of a recommendation from a friend! She's made this a few times and said it was a hit with her family so I thought we'd give it a shot. Owen actually helped with a lot of it too so it was fun to have some company in the kitchen! He chopped veggies, measured the ingredients for the sauce, and prepped the chicken with the cornstarch. We finished up as Pat walked in the door and prepared our plates so we could eat while watching a movie (something the kids had been asking to do all weekend but we couldn't fit in until Monday!). Everyone liked it, we'll be making this again!

Apples, Apples, Apples

Patterson's Day!! One of my favorite days of the year! We got lucky with some beautiful weather but that also means it was pretty crowded. The kids all checked out the new playground first and had a blast. There were plenty of tunnels and slides and places to get lost in so we did our best to keep a close eye on Laney and Zsaz. Afterward, we checked out the pumpkins and then headed inside to sample apples and pick our baked goods. We ended up leaving with kettle corn, 3 bags of apples, 3 doughnuts and a giant fritter. Once back at my parent's house we made apple pie (we used 6 different kinds of apples this year!) and had a pizza and salad lunch. Such a good day!!

Playground

We anxiously awaited the opening of this new playground and they finally opened it after school started! We've managed to make it there a few times since then and the kids love the new options!

Rainy Day

Fall weather is definitely here! And Paige's umbrella turns her a shade of teal:)

5k!

Owen and I signed up for the same 5k we did together last year! It's such a fun race! It's local so we get to run down streets we know, we do it with friends and dogs are allowed to attend/run so it's always fun to see how excited they are too! Owen and his friend started the race at the front of the pack and sprinted off immediately. He was dead tired at the end and wound up with a time of 24:51! I wasn't too far behind with a time of 25:22 and my friend, who crossed in a step ahead of me got 3rd place in our age group! It was her birthday so what an awesome gift!

Eating a donut as a reward for a good job! I think Owen actually went on to eat 5 donuts...
