We're a little over a year away from Owen graduating so I hate to already be thinking about last times for things but this was probably our last soccer showcase or tournament weekend for club soccer since Owen likely won't participate next year! Pat and Owen went down Thursday morning to fit in a college visit at Miami and then Owen had his first game early Friday morning. They lost that first game unfortunately but they spent the night playing basketball at the hotel and going to a nice restaurant-Rusk. I joined them Saturday afternoon for the second game which they won! Then we hung out at the hotel a bit more before heading to dinner at Quaker Steak and Lube with almost the whole team. Big groups can be hard to accomodate but it's so nice when everyone can make it work. Then the boys played probably another 2 hours of basketball. I don't know how they had the energy. The game on Sunday wasn't too early, which was nice, but the team was down to no subs partway into the game after a couple injuries and then down another player after he got a red card. I don't know if their hearts were in the game by that point but they really held their own in a tough position, especially when the other team was getting a little out of hand and intense in a situation that definitely didn't call for it. They lost the game but they were all ready to head home after 4 days of being in Cincinnati.
