6th Grade Camp!

Paige is taking her turn at 6th grade camp this week! She was a little apprehensive about it when we were packing and talking about it during Spring Break but she woke up ready for adventure when it came time to get to the school and meet up with her cabin-mates. She got lucky and she'll be with a lot of people she knows in her cabin, called Spruce. The weather is going to be all over the place so we packed a lot of options for her and I hope she has everything she needs! We're so excited to see how she likes it!

Easter!

I need to write these posts sooner because even though it hasn't been that long since Easter I feel like I've forgotten so much! I knew we wanted our overnight cinnamon rolls for breakfast but I forgot to prep them so I had to stay up until about midnight so that they'd be ready for morning! The next day the kids slept until about 9 and I think maybe we had to wake one of them up...? They took awhile to find their baskets and Paige found hers first in with the puzzles. Owen found his in the cleaning closet! They ate a bunch of candy and some breakfast and then we headed to see my family to celebrate Easter, Lisa's birthday and Paige's birthday!
Not pictured-We saw Pat's family the day before and had dinner with some longtime friends of the family!

5 Miles!

While Paige and her friends were still sleeping the morning after their sleepover, I snuck out to run a 5 mile race! I've definitely run this distance before but not in a race so I was a little nervous to see how I would do with pacing. I ended up getting second place in my age group with a time of 41:11! I didn't have anyone with me but I did take a few selfies that look pretty much all the same:)

I got there about an hour early so I waited in the car to stay warm

3 minutes before the start!

Done! No medals but I got a banana and a bagel at the finish line:)

Sleepover

Paige wanted to have a few friends sleepover to celebrate turning 12 so we snuck it in as soon as we could because weekends around here are about to get crazy! The girls had a blast hanging out, making Tiktoks, eating junk food and playing a jump scare game on Roblox. It was so nice to hear them all hanging out and laughing together! I wanted to get so many more pictures but I held back!

I made each girl a little gift

ODM Competition

Paige had a very very busy competition weekend with solo and scholarship classes on Friday, duo and all group dances on Saturday, and convention classes on Sunday. And her birthday was on Saturday, the busiest day of all! We were both exhausted by the end but she had so much fun.
Friday-Paige's solo was beautiful and she was awarded Platinum and placed in overalls (I don't remember where, 5th or 6th?). Then she had four hours of scholarship classes. We found out on Saturday that she placed 5th in 3 phase (ballet, tap, jazz) which is a huge accomplishment!
Saturday-We had to be at the competition by 8am and got home around 9pm. Overall, she performed 10 dances that day. Duo was early and the girls placed 1st in their category and 1st overall! 8 of the dances were right in a row with only a couple dances in between to give time to change. They basically ran off stage, dressed and ran right back on! They got mostly Platinum scores with a few high golds!
Sunday-Paige had to be back around 8:30 to get ready to take four hours of convention classes. They had tap, ballet, jazz and then got to choose hip hop or modern/contemporary for the last class. Paige chose modern and won the Shining Star award. For each class the teachers get to pick one student who did well and worked hard, Paige was so excited to get an award!

Birthday Weekend!

Paige turned 12 on a competition day! So...we celebrated her birthday in between driving back and forth to the competition all weekend. She woke up to the house decorated in pink, gold, and rose gold. We had to get up very early so she didn't have a ton of time to enjoy it because we were gone for the day until we got back around 9pm. Then it was time for presents! The next day we had time for cake and dinner and a movie to finish out the birthday weekend!
Happy about decorations but still very sleepy
