Ice Cream

Another tradition! Our annual anniversary/Mason's Creamery ice cream trip! The store transforms into a ramen shop for winter but we made it in time for the very last day they are open for ice cream. Phew! We all got bubble waffles and I had graham cracker and blueberry pancake ice cream, Owen had malted strawberry, Paige had malted strawberry and strawberry sorbet and Pat had two kinds of sorbet that I do not remember...

Warm waffles + ice cream + family time is one of the best combinations ever. 

Teatime

We went on our annual high tea trip to Miss Molly's this year! Paige and I have actually been there a couple of times in 2017 and 2018 but never for high tea so it was a new experience for everyone. Unfortunately I forgot to mention a dietary issue for one of the high tea goers so we hit a bit of a snag when everything came out but we all were all still able to find enough food to eat! It's always too much so we brought a box home with us. Paige chose Sprite for her teapot this year, maybe one day she'll actually get some tea:)

Futsal

Futsal season has begun! I love watching these games, they have to move quickly  because the court is so small that it really forces the players to make fast decisions. Owen ended up playing in a total of 6 games this particular weekend because he had a futsal game, a Bruins game, and then played four games the next day with his club team! 

16 years!

Pat and I celebrated 16 years of marriage last week! We had talked about a trip, and then talked ourselves down to a date day and then the day rolled around and we...went to a local restaurant while the kids played at an open gym:) It didn't really matter though, basically all we needed to celebrate was some specific time to ourselves out of the house and we got it!

Music Show

Paige had her last elementary music show! It kind of snuck up on us, she had told us about it and was singing the songs around the house and then it was here! The subject was civil rights and the kids did a great job singing and dancing and talking about the history. Afterwards we went for ice cream and only the boys could stay so Paige reluctantly took a picture:)

Tournament

Owen had a soccer tournament that Paige and I couldn't attend because she needed to be home to take her Cecchetti exam! Pat didn't take any pictures but I took some from a friend who grabbed some pictures during the team dinner. They played 3 games, won one and lost two. So they didn't make it to the finals but Pat said Owen played great, especially in the third game!

We've been pretty stressed around here because of Paige's Cecchetti Exam! She worked so hard learning Grade 2 theory and dances and French terms and when you work that hard for something you just want it to go well! It did! She passed! She even scored "pass plus" which just means you did even better than expected:)

Halloween!

We started Halloween morning with some apple fritters! We were all very excited to get apple fritters after we missed out at Patterson's. Owen didn't have anything special happening at school (poor 7th graders!) but I got to go in to help with Paige's party. She and Miley dressed as Thing 1 and Thing 2 and looked very cute but left a trail of glitter wherever they went:) 

Owen wanted to head out without parents this year so he and friend went together. Pat and I got to go with Paige! She changed into her Golden Snitch costume and Owen changed into his Andy Dwyer costume. The weather was...not great. Windy and misty. This was the first year in a long time that the kids opted to go home instead of finishing out the official trick or treating time.

Carving

We're so bad about setting time aside for pumpkin carving! It was the day before Halloween and Pat was out of town and Owen had soccer so I pre-scooped the pumpkins (I know that seems sad but the kids don't want any part of scooping it anyway!). Then we got lucky and soccer was cancelled so we had plenty of time to carve! We each had ourdf own pumpkin to work on this year. Paige had a lot of trouble settling on a design but eventually chose a winking face, Owen went with a Minecraft theme and I did a bunch of stars (with the help from a cookie cutter).
