Teacher Dessert

I needed to make a dessert for Teacher Appreciation Week and settled on Dorie Greenspan's Chocolate/Fruit/Nut Pinwheel cookie. I have no idea what the official name for these is, they are in her Cookies book. They weren't difficult to make but they did take awhile because you have to freeze or refrigerate the dough at different steps. They came out looking great though. I wish I knew how they went over at the luncheon! We sampled a couple here and thought they tasted great! I used low-sugar dried cranberries instead of dried cherries but stick with the recipe otherwise.
