Cousins

We had another fun cousin visit last week! Owen and Paige love hanging out with their cousins so much and are always asking if they can assist them with things. Luckily, the girls don't seem to mind Owen and Paige doting on them:) We checked out a local wading pool and then headed to a farmers market. I was planning on buying some fruit but it was in short supply so we went with some baked goods- a palmier and a giant blueberry muffin, both fantastic!

Soccer Camp

It's the second soccer camp of the summer! Just Owen this time though, Paige opted out and is completing her swim lessons. This camp was also at a college but was smaller. It was local, which was nice and a bunch of Owen's soccer buddies were there too! He had fun but assured me that this camp took second to Akron:)

Moments

Here are a whole bunch of pictures that don't necessarily merit their own posts but are fun all together!

Paige has been busting through her summer workbook! One day she was supposed to be getting ready but kept sneaking off to do more!

Paige's hair was all done up in a bun because she had dance company tryouts earlier in the day but in these pictures she's dressed for hip-hop class. We had some time to use up before her class so we were playing soccer with Owen!

The kids have gotten interested in Mario Kart again. I love that they can play it together!

We met some friends at the splash pad last week and this is the only picture I got because I was too busy chatting with a friend:) They played in the water the whole time, even as it got chillier and chillier. Eventually we had to pack up and run to the car to avoid a downpour!

Paige and Caden catching fireflies at their brothers' baseball party

Watching the fireworks at the summer solstice party

The kids found the mulberry bush at a friends house and helped themselves!

Cavs

THE CAVS WON!!!!!
We made it home for the Cavs game on Father's Day because we knew it would end late and didn't want a long drive home after. The kids made it through the whole game and I'm so glad they did. The pictures are from Pat and Owen's celebration. I also have a pretty amazing video so I'll see if I can finally figure out how to post videos on the blog again. Paige was a bit tired and overwhelmed so the screaming, yelling, and celebrating was a bit too much for her but she was excited once Pat calmed down:) It was so fun hearing fireworks and seeing all the excited messages from the Cleveland fans!

Father's Day Part 2

For the second half of Father's Day we visited my parents. We weren't able to see Pat's family that same day so stay tuned for a Father's Day part 3 with them. We played some bocce ball, ordered some sandwiches and even had time for Trivial Pursuit Disney Edition!

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day!! Pat is an amazing Dad all year round but I'm glad he gets a whole day to be showered with appreciation:) Father's Day morning I sent him off to get a haircut with one kid who also needed one but didn't want one and another kid who didn't need one but did want one! He didn't flinch, into the car they went! When they came back, he was presented with cards, hugs, gifts and questionnaires the kids had completed about him.

Moving Day

My uncle has been dealing the effects of Parkinson's for about 7 years and has been heavily involved in the National Parkinson Foundation since then. Usually a lot of family will travel up to Columbus (we've never been able to make it) to attend a fundraiser called Moving Day but this year he helped bring it to Cleveland! A lot of people volunteered to make it happen. You can see Jamie behind Owen but look closer and you'll also see Pat's mom, and my mom and dad too! It was an awesome event!

Hanging out with Jamie at volunteer check-in

Paige got to meet Slider!

Cousins

Here are the rest of the pictures of our visits with the kid's cousins and Uncle! They showed us their local library one day and then on the last day of camp Owen was finally able to join us for a visit! We ate some lunch and then went to a local park before we had to head home. It was so fun getting to spend the time together and see the babies grow more comfortable with me and Paige.

Ice Cream Truck

As per usual, our summer tradition of ice cream from the ice cream truck the first time it comes down our street happens at the most inconvenient times! We had soccer camp all day, 30 minutes for dinner before Paige had another local soccer camp. Then we got home and the kids had just finished eating a snack when we realized we had 20 minutes to make it to the rec center to drop off donations for a fundraiser when it came moseying down the street. I tried to put it off but decided to go with the craziness and let them buy their ice cream before we hopped into the car.

Soccer Camp

Soccer camp ended as awesomely as it started. Both kids had a blast! I'm so glad they did because every morning Pat and I had to wake the kids up to get in the car for a 45 minute drive to camp and that would have been awful if they didn't want to go! I almost wish it were two weeks long! They were both coached by some pretty talented University of Akron  players and we'll hopefully get a chance to see them play in the fall. They also got to meet and interact with the coaches of the men's team, something I think Pat wishes he could have done:)
A chilly morning!

They split campers up by age group and luckily Owen and Paige were on opposite ends of the same field so I could watch both! I stayed every day for the two hours Paige would play and used up the time watching the kids, and talking/walking on the track next to the field with a friend I made the first day.

Owen in action!

On the last day, all the big kids and coaches on the field started chanting "little kickers" and formed a tunnel for Paige's group to go through. So awesome for them! Here's Paige emerging from the tunnel!

Paige and her coaches! She loved them all but really connected with Shea (behind her in the picture)
