Christmas Morning!

Here are a few pictures from Christmas morning. Owen woke up and didn't even notice there were presents under the tree but was pretty excited after I pointed them out. He had been worried about Santa coming to the house so we told him the night before that Santa wouldn't come to our house this year. We'll try again next year!

Breakfast with Santa!

We asked Owen if we wanted to attend a breakfast with Santa and he said no. So we took him anyway:) Actually Santa was a very small part of the whole event, there was food and games and prizes and Owen loved all of it. We still had him pose with Santa and I'm so glad we did. I looooove this picture. This was as close as he would get and he looks like he's about to make a break for it!

Birthday and Baking!

We got to celebrate Mom's birthday over the weekend and also do our annual Christmas baking where we attempt to make a "classic" holiday treat. In past years we've done Rugelach, Sugarplums, Fruitcake, and a Gingerbread House. This year we did Rum Balls (with rum extract) and they were mightily unsuccessful. Good thing we also made some pizzelles! Those are always tasty!

This happens a lot (every night) in our house. If it seems like Owen isn't marching with enough gusto it's because I started taping on his 3rd or 4th time marching around the room.

(Also, please ignore the pile of books and whatnot, I'm still "organizing" since we moved stuff upstairs.)

I think this is the first one we took and I am saying to Pat, "Hey! You didn't leave me enough room in the picture!" and Pat thinks it is very funny


Then Owen stole the camera (which I believe was still on a timer) and we got this picture where I am telling Pat, "Hey, maybe we should do a better job of dusting our fireplace that we don't use."


Then Owen took a moment for some tumbling...

and some tickling...

and eventually we got a good one!

Cookies and Cocoa

Yesterday was National Cocoa Day and we celebrated by drinking some hot chocolate! Are cocoa and hot chocolate the same thing?


This picture is for Shelly because she made the baby this cookie! And I got to eat it! Yum!

Christmas Celebration!

We had an early Christmas celebration at playgroup today! The kids decorated cookies, exchanged gifts and...ran around a lot. I think it was a big success!

Conversation with Owen

While perusing the Pottery Barn Kids catalog...

Me: Owen, that's a castle, it's like a really big house.
Owen: Yes, that's like a dump truck.

(My guess is that the drawbridge that was down in the picture reminded him of the back of a dump truck...I like the connections he makes.)

Good Times!

We went to a parade over the weekend and it was extremely cold. This was Owen all bundled up in his stroller. He looked miserable and his teeth were chattering. Pat finally picked him up and was able to warm him up with some body heat so he could actually enjoy the rest of the parade!

That's just cute.

Pat purposely took this picture so it would look like the star was on top of my head but who knew it would also be the most unflattering angle?! Anyway, you can see how big my belly is getting too. According to the pregnancy calendar the baby is as long as a dinner fork!

Thanksgiving in Michigan!

We traveled to Michigan for a few days to visit Pat's grandparents and celebrate Thanksgiving. We did a horrible job remembering to take pictures so here are just a few.

When Owen had his turn with the camera I decided to use the time to take a nap. No, really. I think I fell asleep. I was super tired. That is how he managed to take the most unflattering picture ever. And now I'm sharing it.

Out for a Walk

Holiday Walk

Our town was having a holiday walk on Saturday that mostly amounted to Lolly the Trolley touring the area for free and Santa being at one of the local stores. We decided to check it out since Owen wouldn't take a nap and it was so nice outside!

Happy 6th Anniversary to Us!

Our anniversary was yesterday and I never got around to posting a picture. This picture was scanned in on a scanner that desperately needed to be cleaned but I'm too lazy to redo it. We had a fantastic dinner on Saturday night at Hyde Park and Owen gave us an anniversary present by sleeping until 9am! Usually he's up around 6:30!
