Free? We Like Free.
Yesterday was Free Museum Day and you could get free passes at smithsonianmag.com. So we did. Actually, only two of us were free but $6 for the three of us is much better than $20. We decided to go the children's museum and it was crazy with all the kids running around but Owen was too busy playing to notice the commotion.
The water table was fun to splash in after we convinced Owen to wear a yellow rain jacket. He still managed to get soaked.
The supermarket was Owen's favorite part! He grabbed a cart and started shopping. This is a picture of the first round. The second (and subsequent) rounds were all potatoes and bread.
Playing with the alligators!
Another example of what happens when I try to pose with Owen:)

Clothes
It was laundry day. And Owen really wanted to wear this. And it's the cutest outfit ever. Good picks Owen!
This is the shirt I made. I know, nothing fancy. But I made it. And it didn't fall apart, remember? That has to count for something! (Also, the pattern looks crazy in the small picture but if you click on it you can see the more normal looking gingham)

The Outside
I know, I need to post more pictures of me and Pat too but Owen is just way cuter than either of us (sorry Pat).
Walking to the Artfest
Playing in the sprinkler after a miserable attempt at spending the day in Peninsula. The sprinkler was a much bigger hit.
Helping me weed.
Casually watching the waterfall at the park with sippy cup in hand.

Foodstuffs
Here are some food pictures from the past month. I take a lot of pictures of a lot of unnecessary things.
This is one of Pats favorite foods and normally I wouldn't take a picture of it but I thought the heart was cute. And I'm a dork. A really big dork.
I made chili and brownies for the first Brown's game of the season!
My super tasty (non-processed) homemade wheat thins.
Also, I have threatened to pack a completely non-processed lunch for Pat this week so we'll see if it happens. In case I do get around to it I made some homemade wheat bread today so I'm already partially there!

High Five!
Yea! Our computer is back/fixed (thank you, thank you, thank you Scott!)!!! Get ready for an onslaught of pictures of the last month and other "important" information that I haven't been reporting! Pat got me a camera for my birthday so I have taken 300 pictures since the computer broke! It was convenient that I took a high-fiving picture since it was perfect for this post. Who knew that would come in handy?

Not Such a Good Plan After All...
This is how my mind works...
1. I was reading a blog where the person gave up processed foods.
2. I decided it was a great idea and I should do it and told Pat.
3. Pat reminded me that it would be impossible since "everything" we eat is processed.
4. That made my plan sound even smarter until I realized that would include cereal.
5. Instead I made some wheat thins from scratch and pretended that was the same thing as giving up processed foods (even though I don't buy wheat thins because Pat and I would eat entire boxes in one sitting when we used to buy them).
Seriously though, how crazy would that be? I would have to make my own bread and peanut butter. I wouldn't last, not at all. But I really want to try it...but that's crazy.

Still Sewing...
I forgot to announce that I made a shirt! And it was good enough to wear. In public!!! I waited all day for it to fall apart and it didn't. I still haven't finished the "easy" "one hour" skirt that was supposed to be my first project but at least I haven't given up on the sewing completely!

Just a Thought...
It took us most of the summer to trim the bushes in our front yard and we let the flowers in our flower boxes get brown and wilty. I still don't think that's as bad as both of our neighbors having Fourth of July decorations on their front steps.

oops, i forgot to blog
Our computer is still broken so it hasn't occurred to me to blog lately! I know you've all been missing it, right? We've actually been doing stuff and I would have tons of pictures to show if I wasn't too lazy to figure out how to do it on Pat's computer. We went to Oktoberfest on the 1st and ate some strudel, saw costumed people dancing on a giant cuckoo clock, and watched some wiener dog races. We tried to go to Peninsula with our bikes with the hopes of renting a trailer for Owen to ride in. He nixed that idea by screaming, writhing and refusing to get in. So we walked. New Owen developments have included...learning to say "cheese" for pictures which has resulted in some very cute smiles and learning to turn the tv on and off...and on...and off...
