Old Pictures and New Pictures

Happy thing for today-looking at old pictures. Ok, really, does anyone remember how tiny Owen was? Look at this kid! Soooo small! I remember walking around outside with him in the baby carrier and some lady down the sidewalk asking me if I was carrying around a doll...



He's 18 months now (as of the 24th)! And he takes up much more of my lap then he used to! We might be watching television here but don't worry! It's Baby Einstein so it's making him smarter, right?

I missed one letter! Argh! It's supposed to be "seat of the pants" and for some reason I have "panes." Note to self...culpability=guilt not guile:)

Good Time for a Hat

Yesterday marked the first time I've ever seen Owen have a preference for what he wore. He spotted his winter hat when I opened a closet door and started reaching for it. Once I handed it to him he made a few attempts to get it on and then handed it to me expectantly. Yes, it was the cutest thing ever. Then we went for a walk.


He decided to up the cute factor later that day after it rained by licking a puddle. Don't worry, it was purely for enjoyment, I keep him well hydrated.

My happy item is this random flower. It's the only flower growing in our backyard. My favorite kind of flower is the kind that takes care of itself. Keep up the good work little flower!

30 Days of Happy

So I've been trying to think of something to rival my 30 days of breakfasts and it's been pretty tough. There were some good suggestions (cookies, casseroles) but ultimately I've decided to take it easy on myself this time. So 30 days of things that make me happy seems like a good idea. I'm not including people on this list since if you're reading this blog you probably are someone that makes me happy and you already know it.

First on my list (and I won't be going in any particular order)....Books! These are some of my favorites!

Sleepy Eyes

Soccer and Jerky!

Pat was in a soccer tournament yesterday and this was the best picture I managed to get of it. They didn't win but they were close! I'm just jealous that he got to play!


I don't know why but I still find these signs really amusing. We passed them on the way home from Michigan and I joked about stopping. Then we had to stop for gas and realized that the gas station was The Jerky Outlet. How lucky are we?! They did have a large selection but I wasn't too impressed for claiming to be the 2nd largest (in the whole world!). Pretty classy.

Sign Language

So we've been working on doing sign language with Owen for awhile and at the moment he can do the signs for milk, eat, more and his most recent one is baby! It's a lot of fun to see him do the signs and we've been trying to get one on video but he always gets distracted by the camera and tries to attack it. This is the closest we've gotten to getting it so even though I sound and look a little crazy and Owen isn't wearing pants, has fun hair and has milk all over his face...I thought you would still enjoy it:) I'll work on getting a better video!

We're Home!

We're back from Michigan after having a super relaxing, fun, good time! Here are just a few highlights.

Owen spent a lot of time in his car seat and napped infrequently but he didn't have trouble after exploring Mackinac

Camp Silver Springs 2008!

I'm getting out of the habit of posting regularly and once we get back from our vacation I'll have to work on that! I was trying to get an Owen video up here but it was taking forever to upload (download? whatever...). This is Owen surrounded by toys while perusing some dinner options in his Meal Time book. Yum! Also, when I get some pictures from Camp I'll post some of those but I didn't take any myself so I'll have to depend on the kindness of others for those (that's you Mom and Dad!).
