Graduation Party!

Owen's graduation party! Too say I was STRESSED about this party would be an understatement. There were so many details to think about and this was the biggest party we've thrown. I don't have an exact number but 50 RSVPed and that didn't include any of Owen's friends that he invited himself.
We ended up renting a canopy and buying two more, then renting a table and buying two more...and also renting a bunch of chairs.  For food we had chipotle with chicken, rice, fajita veggies, 2 salsas and cheese. We got two servings of rice for the base and next time I would definitely get rice and lettuce. We also picked up some pizza, and had queso, guacamole, texas caviar, fruit tray, veggie tray, tortilla chips. So much! For desserts we had cake, cupcakes, cookies, gummy candies, and brownies. Paige and Miley made chocolate covered Oreos and we bought some individually decorated sugar cookies that looked great!
I didn't get many pictures but so many people came to celebrate Owen and it was great getting to see everyone. We ended up with a very very hot day but people still hung out outside and played cornhole!

Grad Parties!

We've had a bunch of busy weekends in a row celebrating a bunch of graduates at their parties! I didn't get a lot of pictures but wanted to post the few I did get. We've watched most of these kids grow up with Owen from the time he started playing travel and club soccer or even kindergarten and we're so close to them and their families! It's so sad to think of them going separate ways in a couple months but I hope they always stay close!

Father's Day!

We were so busy up until Father's Day that it kind of snuck up on us but luckily we had time to celebrate Pat! Paige made a cake and Owen gifted Pat with some of his very own Crocs and then we ate dinner at Masthead Brewing!

Recital/Showcase

Recital week is always a long tiring one but the studio has tried to cut down a little bit on how many times the company dances are performed. This year Paige had her own recital, where she performed all of her dances and then participated in two others but she only had one dance in the first one and four dances in the second. She also performed her solo at showcase and got to close out the show which was so special!! She did amazing!

Grandparents came to support!

Pat and I did too!

10 Miler Race!

I signed up for a 10 mile towpath race to help me prep for a (possible?) marathon. I'd last done this race in 2022 but I've done this course a few more times because the marathon also takes place here and it is a very hilly course! I lost my water bottle in the first 1/2 mile and I did go out too fast and had trouble maintaining that speed but I'm proud of the job I did and ended up with a chip time of 1:29:13! They did give me an award for 3rd place in my age group but we realized that that placement didn't include the two people in my age group who had placed 1st and 3rd out of all females! So technically I was 5th but that's ok!

Wedding!

We got to attend a wedding with our favorite soccer parents! We've known Emily since Owen started playing soccer with her brother, Noah, and we were so excited to be invited to celebrate her wedding. We were almost late when I decided my dress had too much white and we had to go back to the house so I could change but we made it with a few minutes to spare! The wedding took place in a park, in a private area, near a lake and then the celebration was a very short walk back to this cabin-like area. They had so many cute details, you could tell it was planned with such care and it was such a happy celebration!

Orientation!

How are we doing college stuff already?? Owen had orientation June 4-5 and it was actually a fun couple of days where we got some quality time together, got bombarded with information and got to see some of the campus! We started off by driving up the night before and soon after we arrived, about 9:30, Owen asked us where his shoes were. He had forgotten to pack them but at least had some crocs on to wear! We did run out and try to find him some shoes but a college town in the middle of the summer doesn't have many options! He was a good sport about it though and accepted his fate. We got some ice cream at Graeters before going to sleep. The next day lasted about 12 hours and was full of meetings and information. We also got to meet Owen's roommate Nate and Nate's parents who were so nice! The food at the dining hall was actually delicious and Owen got to practice staying overnight in a dorm. We said goodnight so he could go hang out with people he met and we met up with Nate's parents. The next day we didn't see Owen until it was time to leave. We kept ourselves busy by grabbing some breakfast at Tous Les Jours (the best!!) while Owen scheduled his classes and then headed home!
Crocs! Oops!

Graeter's!

We got told to sit in the front row, center

Great seats though!

Picture time!

Owen was nice enough to pose too!

The school set up this background and told us to take pictures in front of it. Ok!

Cute little mirror at my new favorite place!
Owen fell asleep very quickly into our drive home!
