Graduation!

Graduation!! You can't even use this one day to sum up the last 13 years of school. It flew by!! Owen's graduation got moved inside because of the weather so extra family was not able to attend. So we didn't have a great venue but it was still a nice commencement with heartfelt speeches and some emotional moments. Maybe the worst for me was when the students were all filing in to Pomp and Circumstance and we finally saw Owen. Also literally receiving his diploma and getting to hug him after!! It was such a special day and we're so so proud of him for the kind, thoughtful, hard working kid he is!
After the ceremony we stuck around for pictures and even got some outside before it began raining pretty hard. We were soaked but we dropped Paige off at home and then met up with Omar's family for an impromptu dinner at Maya, The kids told the restaurant it was Pat's birthday so the restaurant threw a hat on his head and sang to him. It was hilarious and a great ending to the night!

Paige's Award!

Unfortunately, Paige had to miss the freshman academic awards because she was sick but we're so proud of her for earning magna cum laude this year! Freshman year is a big change from middle school and she still pulled off great grades!

Owen's Awards!

Owen finished school but still had a lot more school activities to attend! The school had a senior breakfast before commencement practice and announced Senior Superlatives. Owen won best bromance with Jalen and Omar which I thought was so fun and a great nod to their friendship. He was also up for best smile and best eyes but you could only win one!
Next up was academic awards! Owen finished out high school earning cum laude. He worked so hard and had so many tough classes through the years, we are so proud of him!! He also received a service pin for 100 hours of community service. Between being a camp counselor, a link leader and helping at soccer camp he put a lot of volunteer hours this year.
The last awards we attended was for Spring sports. Owen wasn't expecting much from the tennis awards but he was actually honored a few times! He and his doubles partner got SWC honorable mention and he also won scholar athlete for having the highest GPA on the tennis team!

Prom!

Prom! There are so many extra things to do for prom between the promposal, finding a tie, ordering flowers, coordinating plans with friends. It was a lot! But the day came together and Owen looked so handsome! He got ready pretty quickly and headed to a friend's house where everyone was meeting before we all met up at the art museum. So many people were there which was a little annoying but also great because Owen ran into so many friends and was able to get pictures with a lot of people! After that, the kids headed off to grab a snack before going to prom where dinner and dancing waited for them. The school even coordinated an AfterProm for the kids where there was a hypnotist, card games, food and raffle prizes. Owen came home with an electric tea kettle, a pickleball basket (paddles and balls), and a scratch off basket!

6.2!

My mom was signed up to run a 10k and I had been looking for a race to do too so I decided to join her for the Cleveland Marathon 10k! I haven't done a race downtown in a long time because I really just get bothered by the crowds and parking situation but it really didn't feel like a problem this year. I had to go the convention center to pick up my shirt/bib at the expo and then the next morning the race started at 7:30. They had corrals that coordinated with your pace time which I'm also not used to because of the smaller races but that ended up being fine too. We really got lucky with the weather and I ended up with a chip time of 53:39!

On our way...so early!
