Recital!

Time for recital! Paige was in four shows this year. She only had two dances on Friday but between the three shows on Saturday she danced 17 times! It was a whirlwind with less time than usual between the shows so we had to hurry to get food in between to keep up the kids' energy! They'll get to perform all of these dances one more time at Nationals in a few weeks!

Academic Award!

Pat and I were invited to Owen's school for the freshmen awards ceremony because Owen was on the list for academics! He received a cum laude award for his grades and we're so proud of him! He had one very specifically tough class and the longer the year went on, the harder he worked to get his grade up. What a great first year of high school!

 

Through the Years

A photo collage of Paige's first 8 years of dance popped up as a memory so I wanted to add in her ninth year and make a collage of Owen's soccer years too! He's going on 13 years of soccer and Paige is finishing her ninth year of dance!

 

Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwich Cookies!

We made these yummy Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwich Cookies for the birthday party! They were so so good. I brought the cream cheese to room temperature even though the recipe didn't call for it and it made the filling a little thin. I think next time I would keep it cold for a thicker and easier to use filling but everything else was great!

Birthday!

Time to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday! We had planned a cookout but the weather didn't seem like it was cooperating too well...by the end it cleared up and we still got to enjoy time outside! We had a ton of food, yummy desserts and then everyone played cornhole, chalked on the driveway and went for a walk.

 

Band

Last band concert of the year! They keep the concerts very very short. Paige's group played three songs and then we were done and off to get ice cream!

 

Soccer!

Owen's team has made it through three State Cup games so far and I was able to get some decent action shots at the last one! I was so happy they took a team picture too!

Titans Day!

I can't believe how close it is to the end of the school year! Both kids are starting to have end of year activities and I can't believe Owen is wrapping up his first year of high school! On the seniors last day of school there was a field day with each grade pitted against the others in things like ring toss, box stacking, tug of war etc. Owen and his friend signed up for ring toss and won! It all came down to tug of war between the seniors and freshmen and the seniors came out on top. Owen had a blast and I hope they keep this tradition going!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was broken up into two parts because we knew we wouldn't have much time on Sunday to do anything. On Saturday I was showered with gifts and cards and on Sunday we went for ice cream at Mason's Creamery after the competition. I'm so glad we got to end the weekend together!

 

KAR

Last regional competition of the season! Paige's studio scheduled competition weeks back to back which I don't love but at least we didn't have to go far for it! She performed her duo on Friday and the girls won first place overall! She had a day off on Saturday and then Sunday we came back for her to do her other ten dances Her dances did great with so many high scores and placements that I can't even remember them all. Kind of sad to think they're almost done performing these dances they've worked so hard on but it's always fun to move on to new things too!
