Thanksgiving!

We had a lot less people around for Thanksgiving this year which means planning the meal took a lot less...planning. The layout of our day was pretty typical of a normal Thanksgiving otherwise. I went running in the morning, we watched the parade and some football and then had our meal. I bought a precooked turkey, and Pat's mashed potatoes were excellent this year! We had zoom calls with both sides of the family with dessert in between. We made our own pumpkin pie this year and it was good, although Owen and I wished we had made the time for putting together an apple pie. Pat's mom had made us green junk and tea ring so that helped boost the dessert options too! Paige asked if we could have a sleepover, something we've been meaning to do for a long time, and we decided it was a good night to do it. We made a fort in her room and all four of us played Skip-Bo inside. Then we split off for snacks and movies. Paige and I watched The Christmas Prince 3 upstairs and went to sleep there while Pat and Owen played some video games and then watched Happy Gilmore and slept downstairs.

Our thankful turkey is still going strong although we had to move it up higher on the door because Griffin kept pulling down the feathers!
It was warm enough to wear shorts on my run! But then I needed to warm up with some tea.

Ready to eat!

17 years!

Pat and I celebrated our 17th anniversary a few days ago! Obviously we didn't plan anything big but we never really do...so...not much of a difference:) Pat sent himself some wonderful flowers though! Just kidding, somehow either Pat or the delivery people accidentally addressed the flowers to him but they also signed the card from him...it was pretty funny! Normally we'd go for our traditional trip to Mason's Creamery for ice cream but they turned into a ramen shop earlier than usual this year so we decided to try the ramen! Most of us were underwhelmed...Pat enjoyed his, Owen ate all the noodles and Paige and I didn't really enjoy it. It was fun to try though! We still owe ourselves some ice cream!
We took some pictures for our Christmas card and this one didn't make the cut but I love it!

Looking casual

Well, it looks authentic at least!

Raking Leaves!

We've had beautiful weather!! So we used some of the time to rake up leaves this weekend, even though they're still currently falling...

Working hard

Working hard...

Um...working hard?

Owen joined in long enough for a funny pose. Ok, he probably did a bit more than that:)

After we finished raking, Paige used the hammock to work on some aerial skills

Halloween!!

We had a lot of time for celebrating on Halloween this year because it was on a Saturday. Paige had some early morning dance and then when she came home we had our Halloween lunch. Then she went back to dance and we attended Lauren's virtual baby shower before it was time to Trick or Treat!
Griffin mid-yawn but looking festive

We decided to move the donuts to lunchtime and added a jack o' lantern orange, ghost chips and a hot dog that was cut up like a finger!
Lauren's baby shower!
I joined Paige trick or treating away from home for the first time ever! She was an angel and Miley was a devil. They had a blast!

So glad they decided to wear comfy onesies! Super easy and warm!

Owen went with Luca and Jalen around our neighborhood. Owen was a Chelsea fan so he basically went as himself with a couple more accessories than usual:)

The big reveal! Our pumpkins! We set up a table and scattered candy so no one had to reach into a bowl

The kids made a big candy deal and shook on it!

Halloween at Dance

Paige got to dress up twice for dance last week! She decided to go with a Mickey Mouse costume so she could still dance and not get hot or wear something that might be slippery/dangerous. We added "buttons" on her shorts for later in the week and it really made the costume!
Monday class-tap with Ms Carla

This was posted on online so I took a screenshot. I think this was just any kid who had a costume on that was in the studio on Saturday:)

The studio also posted a video of Paige's group doing a combo they learned! Unfortunately I don't know how to post the video so...here's another screenshot!

Pumpkins

Do the kids enjoy reaching their hands into pumpkins? They do not. But do they enjoy carving the pumpkins? Not really. Will we continue to do it anyway? Probably:)
Ha ha! Paige was excited about carving her pumpkin actually but Owen mostly just stabbed his until a shape formed that he could call a Minecraft guy. You can see the final result in the Halloween post!
