A Surprise Swim

I took the kids to this spot to socially distance with some friends (not pictured). We've come here a couple times to get pictures taken, other times to walk around and once with a different family to swim in the water. For some reason I came completely unprepared, thinking the kids would just take their shoes off and wade through the water...but the allure of going in was too much:) Next time we'll wear swimsuits and bring towels! It was fine though, the kids had a great time even though the rocks were a little slippery and they kept falling at first!

Break time!

This bird kept an eye on them for awhile

Foods and Faces

It's annoying that this picture is upside down but it's just too much for me to fix it right now. We baked homemade bread to have with broccoli cheddar soup!
Peanut butter Cheerio Bars- we had some plain cheerios to use up and we were short on groceries so I went looking for a recipe to use them up. These were very sweet but pretty tasty and only used the cheerios, honey and peanut butter.

Paige accidentally cartwheeled into my face:)

We ordered some masks for when the kids start to venture out into the world.

A Walk

Just a walk...with an excessive amount of pictures! I couldn't help it, it was so beautiful outside. I cashed in one of the coupons the kids gave me for Mother's Day and made everyone go on a walk with me. To be fair 2 out of 3 were on board with the walk already! We found a spot we haven't explored much (although Owen has been there with his friends a few times) and I loved this new location. It's not far but it was fairly easy to get down to the water, different trails to choose from and we didn't even get as far as we wanted so now we have a reason to go back!

Mother's Day!

I had such a great Mother's Day! This kids did their best to be nice to each other and treated me pretty well too:) Pat and the kids gifted me some Reese's peanut butter cups, and some gardening tools. We're trying out a vegetable garden again this year! It's been awhile! I also got some coupons to be redeemed later for things like walks, my choice of board game, etc. And they put together a 30 question Kahoot game about all of my favorite things and hilariously, I got 4th place! :)
I wish I had taken more pictures but I got one with me and the kids and the beautiful flowers I got from Pat! I love that flower that is desperately trying to look in the mirror:)

Moving Day

These pictures of Parkinson's Moving Day look a lot different than previous years! (2017 for example). Normally the event happens in June and it is very warm and we get to see family for the event. They moved the event up about a month and made it a virtual walk so everyone could safely participate. We chose to do our walk on a path we had seen on our last bike ride. We didn't have time to lock up our bikes and walk it that day so we were excited to try it out. Turns out that Pat and I had walked it years before but I didn't remember much. And it felt different anyway with the SNOW on the ground! We were chilly!!

Convention

Paige had a dance convention over the weekend! I'm not going to lie...there was a lot of emotions about participating. She was upset about doing it, especially at the beginning of the second day, but truly enjoyed most of the classes once she got going. I don't know if she's made the connection but she's always happier after she dances. It lifts her mood whether she wants it to or not! :)

Bike Ride!

It was so warm and beautiful outside on Sunday that we decided to go on a long bike ride! We ended up doing 8 miles exactly. It sounded like a lot but it wasn't a tough course so it didn't feel very strenuous. The trail we picked didn't have a lot of people on it either so that was nice. The scenery highlights were probably the log full of turtles and the tunnel we got to ride through!

Cat Post!

Griffin turned 1 on May 1! We treated him especially well and adored him all day to celebrate. We tried to put a tiny birthday hat on him but he wasn't having it so we put on his formal wear instead:)

Nailed It...?

National Oatmeal Cookie Day was last week! It was also Raisin Day but we didn't have any raisins so Paige and I decided to have a "Nailed It" challenge to see who could make the best oatmeal cookie. We made one dough to share and then added whatever toppings we thought would be good. Paige made sprinkle, peanut butter and plain. I made espresso chip/coconut, peanut butter/jelly, craisin, and craisin/chocolate chip. The two highest scoring according to the judges was a tie between sprinkle and craisin/chocolate chip!
