Trip (3 of 3)

Finally! The wedding! I said in the last post the weather wasn't cooperating that day but it cleared up about 20 minutes before the wedding and was perfect the rest of the day! They were able to have their ceremony outside without a problem. This was such a cool wedding to go to. We've known Alex since junior high but we also knew 2 out of the 3 readers, the officiant and one of the groomsmen! It was a little reunion!
The happy couple!

We had fun but we were still super excited to be back with these goofballs!

Trip (2 of 3)

The next day...we had some free time before the wedding and I desperately wanted to head back to Harper's Ferry but the weather was not cooperating. We went to the Air and Space Museum instead. Pat could probably do his own post about all the awesome stuff we saw there but I'm going to stick to basics. There were a lot of different planes that were used for a lot of different things... :)
We posed before exploring

I think this one was Pat's favorite!

That is a space shuttle! Pat is underneath!!

Trip (Part 1 of 3)

Pat and I have a mutual friend that we've known since junior high who was getting married in Virginia last week! We decided to make the trip out even though it meant leaving the kids at home. Everyone was sad to leave each other but ultimately we all had a good weekend! Pat and I left early in the morning so we would have time to meet up with some friends at Harper's Ferry, a beautiful national park in West Virginia. We did not get to spend as much time there as I would have liked but now there's extra incentive to get back!
On the drive down Pat spilled Pringles all over the floor when he attempted the Macarena...:)

We got to meet Brian and Zandra's daughter, Max, for the first time! And we had some ice cream...such large scoops!

Beautiful views were everywhere!
Here!

I was very excited to be on the Appalachian Trail!

Aww, the three of us hadn't been together in so long!!

Birthday

This school thing is really cutting into my birthday celebrating time... Just kidding:) The kids did have school but Pat took the day off (mostly) and we spent the day packing, running errands and we even stopped to eat lunch at a new spot! Later, the boys went to soccer practice and Paige and I hung out at home. When we were finally all together, we all had ice cream together and the kids joined me for a couple pictures:)

First Day of School!

Sigh. Back to school already?? This school year started earlier than usual and was a lot more emotional than usual! Pat wasn't able to join us for the first day walk which devastated Owen and Paige was very concerned that she wouldn't be able to cut it in the first grade. So far she's doing great;) The kids both came out at the end of the day pumped up and excited to be back!
Aww, these kids are awesome!

Walking to school!

We met up with neighbors and had the kids all stop to pose

I even got to be in a picture!

Owen already has safety patrol duties!

Bye Paige!!

Feast!

Owen and Paige started school on the same day this year so we had our Back to School Feast the night before! I've always made the same thing (oven toasted ravioli!) but there was a request for some other fancy food to be served next year so I'll have to make some new plans before then! I kept dessert super simple too by just buying a couple pints of fancy ice cream. Big hit!

Dinner time!

The traditional cards where I tell the kids how proud we are of them and what an awesome year they're going to have. And also, remind them to work hard!

Time to blow out the candles!

Celebrate Good Times!

We had a family get together to celebrate my birthday early and Jamie's birthday a couple weeks late! We settled on ordering in some Aladdin's (I had falafel! Yum!) and I made a chocolate cake. Then we went for a Pokemon Go walk before calling it a night!
Owen and Paige wanted in on the present action

Tickles!

The babies were all dressed up for the occasion!

Cake and the birthday girls!

Pokemon going...

The best group shot I could get!

Shower

It's baby season! My cousin is due with a baby girl in October and had her shower recently. It was a really nice affair and fun to hang out with all the ladies of the family (Paige was the littlest lady there!).

All dressed up!

I try not to take pictures of my food too often but everything looked so yummy!

Paige and I after present opening!

And with the guest of honor!

Not Quite Halloween...

I was going through bags of old clothes from the basement when I came across the bag of Halloween costumes! Jackpot!
Here's Owen modeling his 6-12 month sized tiger costume

Side by side comparison of a too small bat costume, Owen wore this costume 3 years in a row!

Sightseeing

We were long overdue for a visit with Pat's parents! We watched some Olympics and then headed to Forage for some dinner where we got to finish watching the US women win their soccer game. Afterwards, we headed for the water where we got to climb on giant rocks and see the beautiful view. It was crawling with people and not just people playing PokemonGo:)
Dinner! Burgers for the boys, mac and cheese for Paige, tacos for me!

We weren't wearing the right footwear to be climbing but these weren't so close to the water

This mole was disturbingly not disturbed by how close everyone was to him...

Family picture!

More rocks!

Skyzone

I told the kids at the beginning of the summer I would take them to Skyzone and last week I realized we were running out of time to make it happen! I finally coordinated a visit with their friends and with a little help from Groupon (yay!). The kids jumped for a little over an hour and a half before a worker pointed out they had jumped past their time. Then the kids picked out an ice cream treat and relaxed for a bit before we headed home!
