Cavs Game!

One of Owen's Christmas presents was tickets to a Cavs game so Pat and Owen bought what they thought were some great seats and went on a weekday. It turned out the seats weren't so great, people kept walking in front of them and blocking them and also the dance team was in the way for a portion of the night. They still had fun though and the Cavs won on a last second shot! Owen even got on camera for a second in the postgame show. Paige and I were watching and I managed to take a picture!

New Year's Day Hike!

Our New Year's Day Hike is still a favorite tradition! We were looking for a paved trail because it had been raining for so long but we ended up at a new loop trail that was very muddy anyway! Luckily we all wore boots and the weather was temperate. We hiked for about a mile before we needed to turn around but instead of turning back we forged our own path, dissecting the loop we were on. It ended up being the best part with us sliding all through the leaves and mud as we went down one side of a ravine and back up the other. I wish I had a picture of how steep it was! After we got home I put together a hot chocolate board that I meant to make last month!

 

New Year's Eve!

We spent a quiet New Year's Eve at home which is always nice after all the business of December! We ordered Chinese food, played Spoons, made sundaes and decorated cookies from a kit I meant to bring out earlier in December. It was so much fun! There was also an Ohio State game that night that went down to the wire and we almost missed seeing the ball drop in NYC. Pat and Owen were nice enough to pause their game and join Paige and I in the basement where we had set up the right station. Unfortunately, the wrong team won!

I don't know why but the food was extra good this year!

I forget about Spoons but it's always fun!

Art!

The kids still don't get super excited about going to the art museum but I maintain they have a good time once we're there! It had been a couple years since we'd gone and we didn't leave ourselves much time to look before closing time but it was so nice to just walk around and see things. We usually spend most of our time in the modern area, armor room and interactive area but we got to some sections we haven't spent a lot of time in. Paige even found a tiny collection only accessed by an elevator that we had never seen before!

Hamilton!

One of Paige's Christmas presents was tickets to Hamilton! She has been in love with the music from Hamilton for a long time and I was so excited to surprise her! We went with a friend of hers so the girls were able to enjoy it together and Paige loved getting to see it live after singing the songs at home for so long and seeing the filmed version!

Candyland!

We visited my mom's work to see the holiday display and even though not much has changed we still had a lot of fun! We started off playing the Candyland game, then moved on to the hot chocolate room and then made some crafts!

Christmas Evening!

After we finished up our Christmas celebration at home we headed to my parent's house to celebrate there! We had pasta, salad and rolls before we all sat down to open presents. Then we played some games before heading home. Such a fun day!!

The living room is ready!

Paige tried to get Christmas started around 6 am but we managed to push it back a couple hours. Owen needed some help waking up though!
