As usual, Owen woke up early on Easter morning ready to find his basket! He had to wait awhile because Paige was sleeping but eventually we all ventured downstairs so the kids could search out their baskets. Owen picked his up and it was so heavy on one side that it immediately tipped over and candy rolled all over the kitchen! We got it all cleaned up so they could gorge on candy and enjoy the morning! Later, we went to my parent's house to celebrate Easter and Paige's birthday (again!). The kids successfully completed their Easter scavenger hunt and then we got set up with a mac and cheese bar for a late lunch. We made way too much but it was so good!!

| It might not look like much but this cake actually took a lot of planning! It was three layers and we applied a crumb coat for the first time, then a layer of buttercream, then decorated. Pat handled the lettering and procured the buttercream! |

On the way home, Paige asked if she could open her presents from us that night. Normally that would be a big no because we would want her to wait until it was officially her birthday but we knew it she would have to wait until 8:30 the next night to do it. So we said yes and wrapped them up really quickly!
