Last Day of School!

Already?? This year flew by! Owen ended the school year with all As and graduated to 6th grade. He had a great first year in middle school and learned that studying was sometimes necessary to maintain his grades. This was the first year where he really had to spend some extra time studying. Next year he'll be in junior high!

Paige ended the year with a fantastic report card as well and she also got a taco bell gift card in her report card (Paige wanted me to add that!). She loved her teacher and spent many recesses helping out the kindergarteners. Next year she'll be a third grader!!

Daytime to Nighttime

Owen plays a lot of soccer all year round and he wasn't super excited about playing baseball this year when we talked about signups but ultimately said yes. As we struggled balancing soccer practices and games with baseball practice and games, I felt bad about how busy his schedule was turning out! Owen isn't any worse for it though! In fact, even though he's not super passionate about baseball, he loves getting to hang out with different friends and munching on those sunflower seeds:)

Memorial Day!

Memorial Day was a busy day and we spent most of it with the Blatnica's! We started off early with a parade where we met up with the Wilson's too! Then we stopped at the fire station on the way home so we could check out the fire trucks and I could get our annual pictures! We went back for a cookout with friends and made wayyyy too much food and then went to the pool (free day!) to cool off. It was so crowded but it was also so hot that none of us really cared that there wasn't a lot of room to move around. We said goodbye to our friends and went home where Paige promptly put on some pajamas and fell asleep on the couch. She ended up sleeping for 15 hours and Owen was also asleep early and slept for 12 hours! Those two were exhausted!!

Makeup and Oobleck

Paige had been asking all year to try her own makeup because I won't let her apply it before competitions and I finally agreed! I wish I had taken some more pictures of her after but I only got a picture of the application process:)

Paige is always looking to do science experiments and came across an old blogpost I did about making oobleck! I don't think she remembered making it because she was 3 at the time and she wanted to try it again! 

Lobby Pictures!

A few of Paige's friends performed solos this year so when we went to see Showcase of the Stars for ages 12 and under, she was cheering on her friends! All of the girls did a fantastic job, crazy to see how poised and confident an 8 year old can be alone on a stage! 

The second set of lobby pictures are from after Paige's big recital! She performed in 4 recitals between Friday and Saturday and even though we could have left around 6:30 Saturday night, she wanted to stay and finish watching everyone else perform. We ended up leaving around 9 after arriving that morning around 9! Paige even received her 5 year trophy again in the last show and was very proud to be standing alongside the 10 year and one 15 year award recipients!

Dance is a lot of rushing around and then sitting around so there's always time for the girls to mess around and take pictures! This time they were either playing tag, hand-clapping games, looking at programs or tablets or playing Spot-It!

Recital Action!

I had to split up the recital posts because there were so many pictures! These are all pictures of Paige and her group actually dancing on stage. They're all actually from the dress rehearsal because we're not technically allowed to take pictures during the show and I'm a rule follower:) They were taken by an ATB alumni with a much better camera than my phone has. She did a wonderful job! My favorite picture is the last one but all of the others are a close second!

5 years!

Paige has been dancing for 5 years and received a special trophy to honor the occasion!

Opening Day!

Baseball season has begun!! Owen missed a lot of practices because of soccer but he was at least able to make it to the first game. He did a great job on the field and had a blast eating sunflower seeds in the dugout:)
